I've written a fair amount of Go code, but recently I found the opportunity to spend about a month writing nothing but. Having got back to Python the last week, I've had this visceral feeling of being downright wasteful with time and memory.

Am I still fighting? Yes. BUT NOT WITH THE LAW. I still believe in all the reasons for BY-SA, but the reality is I would never, ever sue anyone over SSTB or any cultural work. I will still publicly condemn abuses like enclosure and willful misattribution, but why point a loaded gun at everyone when I'd never fire it? CC-0 is an acknowledgement I'll never go legal on anyone, no matter how abusive and evil they are. CC-0 is as close as I can come to a public vow of legal nonviolence. The law is an ass I just don't want to ride.

Well, I don’t really believe in those creeper cards anyway. They might work if there’s an authority backing them, but that wasn’t the case. They aren’t important right now. What’s important is a community’s reaction to them. If there is positive engagement with something like that. And by and large there wasn’t. Instead there was negative engagement like calling others feminazis, sexist crap and threat of violence. That says a lot about a community as a whole. That’s so sad, because there are a lot of awesome people here.
