    jonicious This is really bad news. If you do not get money from the users, you have to get it from investors and you give your business in their hands. Now you depend on their decissions and they decided against QUOTE.fm.

    Sure, QUOTE.fm will remain but not with a quality that high. That is not elbdudler's fault but you work harder if it is your baby.

    I would love to see a way, users can support QUOTE.fm by paying a little amount of money. This money would go to Marcel, Martin, Flo and Phillip. They could use some time (and would get paid) to support elbdudler with, e.g. design decissions.

Words can’t express how happy I was to get this response. “OK”. Just two letters meant so much. At many keynotes Steve said: “This is why we do what we do”. And that day he was willing to let my friend be touched by what we do, even though it didn’t follow the rules. At that time in my career at Apple I was wondering about the heart of the company. This little interaction lifted my spirits greatly.

Or referencing a document saved in Dropbox rather than adding a file attachment, tracking its changes and backing up each revision. So what does the death of Google Reader mean? For many, it's going to mean a hunt for alternative RSS reader apps, both on the web and on their phones. Fortunately, there a many of them, ranging from casual news apps like Flipboard to hardcore apps like Reeder. However, many of those apps used Google Reader as a source for syncing feeds and read-states and the like. Fortunately, lots of companies are promising to fill in the gaps there too, including both Feedly and Digg.

Wir brauchen keine tausend neuen User pro Tag, um den Service am Leben zu erhalten. Statt dessen brauchen wir eine funktionierende Community, die das ADN-Netzwerk weiter behutsam aufbaut. Indem sie Apps schreibt, indem sie Apps nutzt und den Dienst mit Leben füllt. Dafür braucht man keine Millionen User, nur ein paar Zehntausend, die mit ihren Beiträgen den Dienst finanzieren und endlich den Beweis antreten, dass soziale Netzwerke auch ohne Werbung dauerhaft funktionieren können.

The app is secondary — it’s just a container. I’m not going to get a meaningful number of new subscribers because I add a new setting or theme. This is why publishers like Condé Nast can have such mediocre, reader-hostile apps: the apps don’t matter as much as we like to think. The content and the audience matter much more than what color your links are.

Es fühlt sich nicht wie Arbeit an, weil da Freundschaften existieren. Wir sitzen nicht nur bei der Arbeit zusammen, sondern gehen abends gemeinsam etwas trinken oder essen.
