Atmospheric scientists try for years to piece together what happened, but no explanation is forthcoming. Eventually, they give up, and the unexplained meteorological phenomenon is simply dubbed a “Skrillex Storm”—because, in the words of one researcher, “It had one hell of a drop.”

Gustav Moorhouse These scientifically accurate fictional what-if answers are amazing. XKCD ♥
Hermione sagt hier den schönen Satz: „Is that really what my hair looks like from the back?".

When I graduated from college I had little notion of how I'd ever be able to put together all the interests that I had. It took a good deal of time, and my parents probably wondered if I'd ever be able to make anything of all I'd been given; but after a lot of help from a lot of people, I'll never forget the sense of wholeness I felt when I finally realized what, in fact, I really was: not just a song writer or a language buff or a student of human development or a telecommunicator, but I was someone who could use every single talent that had ever been given to me in the service of children (a[…]

Gustav Moorhouse Fred Rogers' commencement speech. Mentions God 4 times too much, but nice speech.

The bullets arc forward. Marine marksmanship is the finest this world has ever seen, and Bassus and his men, trotting forward six abreast, make a fine target. They all drop. Horses and men shriek. McCandless orders men forward to take prisoners and dispatch the horses humanely.

Gustav Moorhouse Prufrock451's comment on a Reddit question that turned into a high-budget Hollywood flick.
"Could I destroy the entire Roman Empire during the reign of Augustus if I traveled back in time with a modern U.S. Marine infantry battalion or MEU?" -
Gustav Moorhouse I guess I posted this half a year too late.
The beta wasn't over yet. Fuck. It was no less scary this time around. I was wrong again. Experience provides confidence, but it won't wipe away the fear. That's a skill you have to earn. Fighting all the alarm bells, I took one solid step with my right foot and pushed off the arch in one clean motion. This one felt perfect.

Gustav Moorhouse Ben Huh (Cheezburger Network) jumped the Corona Arch, pretty cool.
Forty years ago, Laszlo Polgar, a Hungarian psychologist, conducted an epistolary courtship with a Ukrainian foreign language teacher named Klara. His letters to her weren't filled with reflections on her cherubic beauty or vows of eternal love. Instead, they detailed a pedagogical experiment he was bent on carrying out with his future progeny.

Gustav Moorhouse Laszlo Polgar wrote a book on how to raise a genius. He then got married and raised three chess Grandmasters, one of his daughters even beat the chess world champion, Gary Kasporov.

Gustav Moorhouse Tracking your life with data, seems like a cool thing. GPS tracking, step counting, growth, calorie intake, emails receives, tweets tweeted, why not record it all?
